We are proud to be Southern Baptist!
The teachings of this church are based upon the faith and doctrine of the Southern Baptists.

We will give you the brief version and then leave you a link if you want to get deep into what Southern Baptist Believe. We don't get too deep into doctrine here though. We want to focus on JESUS and our relationship with Him!

The Southern Baptists' beliefs are summarized in their statement of faith, The Baptist Faith and Message. Here are some of their core beliefs:
  • The Bible
The Bible is the word of God, and the Gospel message of Jesus Christ is its ultimate revelation.
  • Baptism
Christian baptism symbolizes a believer's faith in Jesus Christ, their death to sin, and their resurrection to new life. It is a prerequisite for church membership and the Lord's Supper.
  • The Lord's Supper
A symbolic act of obedience where members of the church memorialize the death of Jesus Christ and anticipate his second coming.
  • Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
  • The Trinity
There is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • Salvation
Humans are sinners in need of salvation, which is achieved through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The church
    The local church has autonomy.
  • Religious liberty
All people should have religious liberty.
Southern Baptists are generally conservative, evangelical, and nonliturgical in their outlook. They separated from the Triennial Convention in 1845 due to divisions over slavery and racial attitudes in American society.
